Lacey Cornell is a Lyric Soprano and dedicated voice pedagogue whose performing and teaching career has earned her recognition throughout the New York music community. Known for her versatility in both opera and musical theatre, she brings artistry, technical precision, and dynamic stage presence to every performance. She is the winner of the Long Island Broadway World Best Supporting Performer in a Musical for her role in Beauty and the Beast at CM Performing Arts Center, and was nominated for Broadway World Long Island’s Best Young Audience Production for Beauty and the Beast at the John W. Engeman Theater. In her private voice studio, Lacey is equally committed to cultivating confident, healthy singers by blending strong technical foundations with expressive, individualized artistry.
Lacey’s most notable roles include Madame de la Grande Bouche (Beauty and the Beast) with the John W. Engeman Theater and CM Performing Arts Center, Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Second Lady (The Magic Flute), and Hansel (Hansel and Gretel) with New York Lyric Opera Theatre, Mercedes (Cover/Chorus) with Long Island Opera Theatre, and Dido (Dido and Aeneas) at Adelphi University.
She has performed under the baton of distinguished conductors including Scott Jackson Wiley, David Rosenmeyer, Joshua Gersen, and Dina Curley. Lacey has also appeared as a soloist with the Metamorphosis Chamber Orchestra, the South Shore Symphony and the Rockville Centre Guild for the Arts Orchestra.
Her performances have been featured at renowned venues including the Bruno Walter Auditorium, Weill Recital Hall, National Opera Center, Madison Theatre at Molloy College, Westermann Stage Concert Hall, the Merrick Theatre & Center for the Arts, and The John W. Engeman Theater.
As a passionate educator, Lacey is deeply committed to evidence-based voice training and continued professional growth. She has completed advanced voice pedagogy training through the Shenandoah Conservatory CCM Voice Pedagogy Institute and the Westminster College of the Arts Voice Pedagogy Institute, earning professional certificates from both programs.
She has studied with leading voice professionals including Kelley Nassief, Matthew Edwards, Wendy LeBorgne, Dr. Paul Kwak, Kathy Price, Jon Price, Jeanine LoVetri, Arthur Levy, Mary Saunders Barton, and Christopher Arneson.
Lacey is a proud member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), with involvement in the Eastern New York, Suffolk and Nassau, and New York City chapters, The National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Opera America, The Voice Foundation (TVF), and is a trained NYSSMA adjudicator.
In addition to her work as a performer and educator, Lacey has served as Musical Director for over 30 productions, leading a wide range of youth and community theatre performances at The John W. Engeman Theater and The Merrick Theatre. Her musical direction credits include beloved titles such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Wizard of Oz, Frozen, Madagascar, Shrek, Cinderella, The Lion King Kids, Chicago High School Edition, and numerous Jr. and Kids productions. Known for her clear musical leadership and collaborative spirit, she fosters confident young to adult performers while shaping cohesive, vibrant productions from first rehearsal to final performance.
